This isn’t the shortest or the quickest route between Telford and Oswestry but it is an excellent mix of mostly quiet, rolling back lanes and the odd hill to stretch the legs. The ride is built around a cafe stop at the Cambrian Railways’ buffet car at Weston Wharf station, but there’s plenty of alternatives to be had in Oswestry itself if you don’t fancy a train-themed cafe stop.
The route is entirely on road. Some of the lanes (particularly on the way back) can get a bit mucky after damp weather. This is an ideal ride for a warm, sunny, summer Sunday.
