We’re a long-established cycling club in Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire. We’ve been active in the local area since 1922. Although our roots are in racing and time-trialling, we pride ourselves of providing a diverse portfolio of events that cater for improving beginners through social cyclists to accomplished racing cyclist and time trailers.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly, inclusive club with our membership at the heart of everything we do.
We’re affiliated to British Cycling, British Triathlon, Cycling Time Trials and the Shropshire and South Staffordshire Road Race League. Through our affiliations we can offer our members access to an excellent local and regional programme of competitive events.
Although primarily a road cycling focused club, we do our utmost to ensure our rides programme includes something for everybody regardless of age, gender, ability or bike. This includes gravel rides, the occasional mountain bike ride and longer distance touring ride to faraway places. We run a weekly programme of social rides which typically include:
- Wednesday evenings (between Easter and October) a weekly time-trial event
- Thursdays evenings (between Easter and October) a relaxed pace short evening social ride.
- Sunday mornings – every week at 0930 (weather permitting). This is our day for social riding, with up to three club runs departing from Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre offering a range of routes, distances and average speeds aimed at improving beginners, intermediate and experienced cyclists.
Membership costs only £12 for a year for a single person. Family membership is available at £18 per year. If you’re interested why not pop down and see us on a Sunday morning between 0900 and 0930 outside Wellington Leisure Centre?
